Not to be confused with the English indie-rockers or Japanese dream-pop band who also go by the name of Wallflower, this one is an anonymous American producer with whose previous releases have pretty much gone viral. Their EDM flip of BANKS’ ‘Better’ is currently up to 226k plays on SoundCloud and instrumental original ‘Set Me Off’ has also racked up a respectable amount of listeners. Now, we have the clearest indication that Wallflower is more than remixer or beat-maker thanks to the jazzy, electronic single ‘Lost On The Island’. A creamy-textured, soulful vocals flows into the chunky percussion, EQ sweeps, intermittent bass and later a sweet little guitar riff. With vibes of Chet Faker and Honne, ‘Lost On The Island’ is a brief, but very welcome, introduction to Wallflower the artist. - HT
